I think the conference should be in a relative "hot spot" like Atlanta or Dallas because of the relative geographical considerations. Both are airline hubs as well as great destinations. Also, I voted for the economy mode because I would personally like to get a wider demograhpic of participants, not just the well heeled, if you know what I mean.

Of course, Los Angeles and Las Vegas are great destinations - hehehe.

Can we assume that once you have a consensus on the location category, you will have a second poll of city/state locations that fit the category?

Suggest that Myrtle Beach SC with golf courses and deep sea fishing available for recreation outlets should be a candidate for your consideration. If you pick a low season rather than a peak season time of year, the conference will be a little more economical.

Places that are relativly inexpensive to fly into:

Baltimore
Florida
Vegas
NYC
Dallas
San Diego

Mexico's always fun, and can be very inexpensive once you get there.

Cancun
Puerto Vallarta
Cabo San Lucas
Cozumel
Mazatlan

A cruise might be fun to....but a bit more expensive.

I agree that we should cater to those who are still trying to make it in real estate, rather than those who own the hotel so to speak.

Might also be fun to go to a hot market and have a hands on "sub. to" course and see who can make the most $ durring the conference.

We'll have to put everyone's Alias on their name tag. I know many of you by your alias, but not a clue what your names are. People who aren't involved will think it's some kind of spy convention. I keep laughing thinking about it!

I think either the Phoenix/Scottsdale area or Las Vegas would be great locations. They offer all sorts of accomodations from the economy to the elite, lots of options on things to do for varying tastes and budgets and both are very hot markets (no pun intended) for RE, so they meet many of the goals for this conference for both leisure and educational reasons.

Just my 2 cents...

I'd vote for Chicago. Because it's close, among other reasons. :)

I attended a conference in the early 80's in Orlando, FL. This conference was in Feb or March. There were many young fanilies in attendance and the husband attended the conference and the wife and kids enjoyed the local sites.

I know that location is important, but also is that the location offers a central airport that most airlines service. Airports like Atlanta, Orlando, Tampa, St. Louis, Los Vegas (rooms $29.00 and up) and Indianapolis. If you would hold the conference in the midwest, then it will be cheaper for all to travel.

Looking forward to the conference.

I vote Vegas! Its cheap to fly into, and there are a broad variety of hotels to choose from for people of various budgets not to mention enough competition between hotels that if you pick the right weekend you can get a sicko group rate.
