I need to replace a bunch of windows, and want to know if anyone has had experience with Window World. They gave me an estimate a while ago, but the sales pitch was too much for me at the time. Now I'm rethinking and just going for the basics. I've read a couple of complaints about them, but they do seem to be the best deal for the money. Any thoughts, or ideas?
I'm in the Hudson Valley of New York.

Is this for your personal residence, flip, or investment property?

My preference is to have a window installed that comes with a lifetime warranty for manufacturing defects (eg. seals on douple pane fail). Some window manufacturers that offer this warranty include Simington (sp?) and Milgard. Since window seals often fail, I won't consider a window for a home I will own for a while w/o the lifetime warranty unless they are known for quality (eg. Anderson sliders)....the cost savings on cheaper windows goes out the window with the first failure (the window seals on most of my brothers house have failed and they're not under warranty).

We've used WW windows in three of our units. They were okay to deal with, nothing special. Did have a problem with a crackhead installer that worked on the first install. After that everything was okay. No, I wouldn't use their product in my personal residence.

Thanks,. I just called them, and they are scheduling six to eight weeks out after their appt. That is too long for me to wait.
It's for rental properties that I own In a college town, and broken windows are par for the course, but this time I really have to replace them, not just fix the glass.

Every couple of years I send out for quotes on windows to see who has the best price and shortest turnaround times.

Often there are salvage companies that will sell windows very cheaply. I have one here that buys overuns from builders and takes their extra stock and is about 50% of home depot pricing for new windows.
