With Christmas around the corner and a lot of gift-giving going on, I was wondering what your thoughts were about tipping your building manager.

This will be our second Christmas owning a 6-family building, and first for a 34-unit building. I'm not sure what's appropriate, if anything, as a Christmas bonus. And should performance be factored in at all? We were close to firing our management company for the 34-unit building just a couple of months ago.

I would love to hear what any of you are doing. Thanks!

Tips are supposed to be a reward for good performance. If you were close to firing them, they certainly don't deserve a tip!

By the way, I am moving this to multi-family.

I would sent something to the office/support staff as they do the work and he gets the cash.
