My credit is not bad, but not great. I have some finances to use in order to build credit, but other than borrowing small amount of money unsecured and paying them back better than expected....I am not aware of any ways to build my credit scores. If anyone has any suggestions on methods they have used in order to establish a good credit rating, I would sure appreciate it!

Have you tried borrowing money on a secured basis either via a secured credit card when you deposit, say $500, and get a credit limit of the same amount and then make early payments. Ditto for a personal loan type of arrangements. There are no "quick fixes" for fixing your credit. Some methods work a bit faster than others but thats exactly why protecting your credit, and keeping it, is sooo valuable. If there were quick fixes, it wouldn't be soo valuable.

Hi MrZog,
My credit is pretty good myself but last night I went to myfico.com to check up on it. After paying 12.95 it gives your score, an explanation of your report including details about what may be hurting your score, what you can do to improve it...etc. It even gives you a simulator which shows how your score may be affected from certain variables such as reducing your credit card balance, paying off certain loans, etc... You just plug in the numbers and it shows around what your score would be. It was worth every penny!!!

Jorge 121 - I appreciate the good advice, but I guess I should have given a little more information. I am able to get unsecured credit cards and small loans....but I just can not seem to make it over that hump. I can not qualify for the rock bottom rates that I am trying for. Last time I checked my scores were about 670. Very good point about the "no quick fixes!" I understand exactly what your saying about it wouldn't be a very valuable measure of ones credit worthiness if it was simple to obtain a high score in a quick fashion.

PRIDL21 - GREAT SITE!!! I have obtained the single agency report before when being denied for a loan....but I am going to look into receiving the 3 bureau report with FICO scores! I think that will be very beneficial.

Purple Millionair - I really appreciate the gesture, but I think I am going to stick with guidance and information from this forum and information I have obtained off of the internet. I really do appreciate the offer though!!! Very generous!!!
