I've been looking around at some "free credit report" sites and so far all the ones I been to want a credit card for the "free 30 day trial" thing, but I dont have any open credit card accounts because they're all in charge off and I'm working with a credit counselor to get them paid down.

Anyhoo, is there anywhere I can get a credit check without having to try a 30 day trial thing? I already tried the sites that let you annually check your credit due to the new laws that passed recently.

Thanx-

as far as i'm concerned, all those free for 30 days things are a sham. It will not be a very detailed credit report anyway, probably without scores.

You best bet is to get friendly with a mortgage broker and have him run you one. It only costs $10-20 so as usual the government is creating legislation for something that shouldn't even be an issue.

Ask your credit counselor for one, I'm surprised they haven't shared it already. If you have been denied credit, there are instructions about how to get an obligatory copy of your credit. Nowadays you just have to call a phone number and enter the data, they'll send it right out.

She already gave me a copy of a "report" not the FICO score.

Thats what I'm particularly interested now, just wondering how far it went down due to me being out of work for 6 months and all.

Work history will not affect credit. It is recorded but your income is not on the credit report. Find a mortgage broker to review your credit with you, which would include your scores. The broker cannot give you a copy, but they can go over it with you, and you will know your scores.

hey this will help you--go to any radio shack or rite aid pharmacy and ask for their pre-paid master card-(www.mymccard.com-use the locator) bring $30-$9 to activate and $21 for initial credit line--then go to www.creditboards.com and for a credit report go to www.privacyguard.com and join and watch your credit score go up. hope this helps

I don't know what state you are in but it should be free for all states by now. Go to ****Must participate a while before posting URL's*** Now they have it where you can get one free credit report per year from all 3 credit bureaus. This is not a scam nor do you have to put in any credit card information.

Contact me if you need more info.

Is what should be there. They too do not print you FICO but with that info, you can go to a FICO estimator and they are damn accurate (myfico.com has a fico estimator). Credit counseling is seen the same as bankruptcy as far as home loans! Have a family member help. Good Luck

If you can get a Providian credit card, they include free online access to your (Transunion) credit score anytime, updated monthly. It's pretty slick, you can see this month how what you did last month affects your score.
