Hi,
When advertised in the newspapers, will the Tax Deed Sale be listed as a Sheriff Sale?
Thanks!

Don't know Ohio's rules, but probably not. Call your county auditor and/or assessor to find out where/when/how they advertise Tax Deed sales. Could be on a website. Could be in some obscure paper you don't follow.

Each county auditor is responsible for the sale of property for nonpayment of taxes
And yes the Sheriff does handle some tax delinquent sales.

Liens and deeds are handled by the treasures office in Oklahoma County, but John is right that it's different state to state. When you asked that just reminded me of a funny story about how crazy this type of investing has become. I went with my Uncle 7 years ago to a sherrif sales here in Oklahoma County. At the time they were at the same place now, and half the room was empty. When I went there last year, it was packed full to capasity and they had people in "overflow" rooms. Anyone who was not interested in the next 10 properties were asked to leave to allow people that were to enter. Fact of the matter is, I don't think 90% of the people were there to bid. Seemed like they were all look seerers. Only a handful of people bid. I don't know if there is some guru out there preaching about how you can get cheap properties in these type of sales, but a lot seemed very dumbfounded on how high the prices were going. That was the LAST Sheriff sale I plan on attending for right now.. LOL
