Does anyone know the procedure for Georgia foreclosure? I have checked the lis penden and have not had any luck. All I could find were divorce cases. I would like to have a little more time than what the legal notice in the paper gives. Any advice would be helpful and greatly appreciated.

Nate.

NathanGillis,
Im not sure how your state or county is set up. Here in NJ the lis pendens are filed in the mortage recording section at the county clerks office in the county courthouse. I have never has a problem in asking a clerk for help. Dont just ask anyone for help. Make sure it is someone that works in that department. If the clerk is not around, Approach someone doing title searches and have them put you in the right direction. Here in our county I just look for the group of 7 or 8 people huvering over a list of papers all carring note pad and writing quickly.....Usually the same 7 or 8!!! Good Luck!!!
