U-Store-It Trust Announces Planned Public Offering of 15,000,000 Common Shares

CLEVELAND, OH -- U-Store-It Trust (NYSE:YSI), a self-administered and self-managed real estate investment trust focused primarily on self-storage facilities, announced today the commencement of a public offering of 15,000,000 common shares. The underwriters will be granted a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 2,250,000 common shares.

A registration statement relating to these securities has been filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission but has not yet become effective. These securities may not be sold nor may offers to buy be accepted prior to the time the registration statement becomes effective. This communication shall not constitute an offer to sell or the solicitation of an offer to buy, nor shall there be any sale of these securities in any state in which the offer, solicitation or sale would be unlawful prior to registration or qualification under the securities laws of that state.

Lehman Brothers Inc. is serving as sole book-running manager. The co- managers include Citigroup Global Markets, Inc., Wachovia Capital Markets, LLC, A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc., Raymond James & Associates, Inc., Banc of America Securities LLC, KeyBanc Capital Markets, a division of McDonald Investments Inc., and Harris Nesbitt Corp.
