Chicago, IL -- Portions of Central England Experiencing Six-and-a-Half Year High in Demand for Commercial Premises Today The British Midlands development Corporation announced that business demand for commercial property in parts of the region is holding steady, with some cities experiencing rental expectations reaching six-and-a-half year highs.

A recent quarterly report conducted by the UK's Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors indicated that investor demand for commercial property in portions of the region was strong and rising across all sectors.

New inquiries in parts of central England rose at their fastest pace in more than two years, with the biggest gains being reflected in the industrial markets.

The British Midlands region experienced steady demand and supply for both industrial and retail facilities, with preference being shown for new business parks.

Just a few weeks ago, the Birmingham Business Park marked the signing of its ninety-ninth and hundredth occupiers when Control Instruments OmniBridge, and Silvent became the latest companies to set up operations at the park.

South African, Control Instruments OmniBridge, a fleet management information company signed a ten-year lease for over 3,500 square feet at the Birmingham Business Park and Swedish advanced air nozzle manufacturer, Silvent, signed a 5-year deal for over 1,100 square feet.

The British Midlands has a large number of business parks and science parks.  The Birmingham Business Park alone has grown to almost 1.5 million square feet and is home to large companies such as Orange, Fujitsu, Ericsson, and Softlab.

"The British Midlands is the second only to London as the largest commercial center in the United Kingdom," said Vern Sebby, President and CEO of The British Midlands development Corporation, "The region is home to some of the largest international companies in the world such as Airbus, Bombardier, AstraZeneca, 3M, Pepsi Co, Coca-Cola, and many others."

"The Midlands has a superior business infrastructure and has the business assets that major global industries look for," continued Sebby, "Our reasonable real estate costs and abundance of excellent real estate options, continue to attract international business to the region."
