Do Most Liens Go Away

I always thought most Liens went away when you bought a property at a tax sale. I know IRS liens don't (or something about they have an additional 120 days to redeem). I was at a REIA meeting last Thursday and was told that Liens do NOT go away. In order to make them go away you must do a quit title suit. I thought the quit title suit was just to remove any cloud on the title. I know states will be different so guess I am asking about Missouri.

Hi,
In my research about Missouri I find all but federal liens are extinquished once a collectors deed is issued. After the 1 year of the redemption period you, the holder of the certificate, can purchase a collector's deed to the property. You need to provide an affidavit to the collector that proper notification was made and that a title search was done on the property
