I am new to tax sale investing and was wondering if someone could tell me how to get the physical address of the properties. The list just tells the name of the owner and different codes. Any help would be greatly appreciated...Thanks

Part of the secret is in the codes.

The APN or ATN relates to a certain book and page and the last digits are usually the property itself on said page. You need the parcel map to make sense of the physical address, it helps if roads are shown. Often a tax sale property won't have a physical address, or it may be wrong. Anyhow, the tax collector should be able to tell you where all the maps are located, usually in the planning department or assessor's office.

Take your list to the assessor's office, perhaps someone there has a coinciding list showing which properties have improvements. The assessor can also give you the last mailing address of record for any owner.

Easier yet, maybe your county has an online gis program that has all of the above info open and available via the net.

Enjoy!

You should be able to find that information through the appraisal district of that county online. In example, for Harris County go to www.HCAD.ORG
