What are some of the most important things to look for when searching for an agent to help you aquire new property? Thanks!
Experience in the field you're looking to buy in. (i.e Investment/Private Client Groups, Industrial, Retail, Office, Multi-family) Or at the very least, access to a team that can/has provided these services. Interview several candidates, even when buying. Check their list of past clients and significant assignments. Talk to some of their RECENT past clients. Their competency will become apparent through comparison.
Not only that, but find out how big their network is. If they only know one or two people who can really get deals, it really makes their finding power even less. Remember, its not so much what THEY have, but its what they have, plus all the people they know, and what they in turn have. Networking is HUGE in the commercial business, its all about who you know
