Login Frequently Asked Questions

Please check out these frequently asked questions before you go through the Login Problems tutorial.

Q. I have forgotten my password. Can I have it reset?
A. Yes. By simply providing your email address, a new password will be assigned to your account and then emailed to you. Click here to reset your password.

Q. When I try to log in I get an error saying my email address in invalid. What is the reason for this?
A. This error appears if we were unsuccessful in sending an email to you. If you are signed up for our newsletter and no longer wish to receive it, log in and change your preferences under "My Info" located in the "My PropBot" section of the site. If you block our newsletter in your email program, it will appear to us asif you email address does not exist and you will receive the "invalid email address" error.

Hotmail Users: Please be advised that Hotmail imposes fairly strict email filtering which occasionally deletes our email to you before you have the chance to view it. In order to avoid this scenario, add "admin@PropBot.com" (without the quotes) to your Contacts list.

Q. I haven't received my password yet from creating my account. When will I receive it?
A. Your email provider's SPAM filtering is too strict. Call them and complain. You are not receiving emails from the propbot.com domain.

Q. I am receiving the message "Login Incorrect - Please Try Again." Why?
A. You have entered an incorrect username OR incorrect password OR you don't have an account with us. You will need to go through steps 3 & 4 on this tutorial.

Q. I am receiving the message "Your username and password are CORRECT, but your computer is rejecting our cookie." Why is this?
A. Your cookies are not enabled or your firewall is blocking them. You will need to follow steps 5, 6, and 7 in tutorial below. Note that, in rare instances, not using the "Remember Me" box has allowed users to access the site when they were previously unable to do so. If you are receiving the above error message and you are using the "Remember Me" check box, please uncheck it and try again.

Q. I am receiving the message "Access Denied, You are trying to access to a restricted area." Why is this?
A. You aren't logged into our website. To log in, click on the Login link or click here.

Q. I am receiving the message "You must upgrade to access this feature." Why is this?
A. You have not purchased the correct paid subscription necessary to access this feature. Click here to check out our different subscription levels.

Q. Why do I have to use a password and cookies to come to your website?
A. Because PropBot stores information that you may want kept private (such as your name, email address, property information, etc...). We take security very seriously and continuously strive to protect the privacy of our members. STILL DON'T TRUST US?? Read more about what cookies are, and how they affect your computer.

Q. I have AOL and am having problems, can you help me?
A.

  1. AOL members must click on "Settings" on the AOL toolbar and then go to "Internet Web Options".
  2. Click the AOL browser tab, click on don't suppress graphics, apply and then okay.
  3. You also need to go under pop up controls and type in this website name (PropBot.com) to allow pop ups for this site (we do not use pop up windows for advertising).
  4. Now go to Part 2 of Step 6 below to finish resetting your AOL browser.

    Login Problems Tutorial

The vast majority of login problems experienced by our members stem from one of the following three sources:
    1. Browser Settings
    2. Firewall Settings
    3. Username and Password Settings
Please go through the following steps one-by-one, and you will be able to login. Do not skip steps as doing so will likely prevent you from resolving your problem!

    Step 1. Check the link

Sometimes people have trouble logging in when they follow a direct link on our newsletter through web-based email (i.e. Hotmail, AOL, squirrelmail). If this is the case, try logging into our website directly at http://www.PropBot.com. Then go to the page mentioned in the email.

    Step 2. Check your browser

If you are using an AOL browser, this may well be the cause of your difficulties. Try using Internet Explorer, FireFox, or Mozilla as a web browser instead as these have consistently delivered superior results.

    Step 3. Check your typing

Your Caps-Lock button should be OFF (unlike mine). Passwords are ALWAYS case sensitive whereas usernames are not. When logging in, look at your username. If it appears in all UPPERCASE letters, you know your Caps Lock button is on. This needs to be turned off. It is located on the left side of your keyboard.

    Step 4. Reset your password

By simply providing your email address, a new password will be assigned to your account and then emailed to you. Click here to reset your password. Remember to check your email for your new password.

If you still cannot log in after going through the Password Reset System process, continue to Step 5.

Step 5. Temporarily Disable Your Firewall

If you have a firewall such as ZoneAlarm, Norton Internet Security, or Norton Personal Firewall (to name a few), try disabling it temporarily. Many times these programs will not permit your computer to accept cookies consequently disallowing you access to this site. If you disable your firewall, and then find that you have access to PropBot, you know that your problem was a firewall issue, NOT our website OR your Browser. Please re-enable it immediately and consult the firewall's manual for instructions on allowing your computer to accept cookies.

Step 6. Reset your Internet Explorer Browser to the Default Settings

If you have tried to log in and you are sure your username and password are correct and are being typed in correctly, you might have a cookie issue.

When using PropBot.com, you must have cookies turned on in order for your connection to be authenticated against our website. This allows you to have access to specific areas of the website, and allows us to differentiate you and other users.

Here are some additional steps you can take in order to reset your Internet Explorer back to it's original settings:
    1. Click on Tools, Internet Options, Delete Files (in the Temporary Internet Files box). Check the 'Delete All Offline' checkbox and click 'OK'.

    2. Click on the Security tab and click on the 'Default Settings' button or 'Default Level' button on the bottom right.

    3. Click on the Advanced tab and click on the 'Restore Defaults' button on the bottom right.

    4. Click on the Privacy Tab and click on Defaults

Now you can retry logging into www.PropBot.com

If this still fails to work, proceed to step 7.

Step 7. Temporarily Use the Mozilla or FireFox Browser

If you tried all the above steps and you still can't login, please download the free Mozilla OR FireFox Browser which we also support. The reason for trying another browser is to determine if the one you have been using is the cause of your login problems. If Internet Explorer or AOL is giving you problems and Mozilla is not, then you know that you have a browser problem.

You can download both of these for FREE for Windows, Linux, or Mac OSX at www.mozilla.org
