Pool homes are nearly as common in Florida as snow blowers are in the North and Mid-Western States. The picture perfect Florida weekend often includes chicken slow cooking on the grill and the joy and laughter of children and adults splashing about in their crystal blue pool.

The purchase of a home that includes a pool should be given careful thought by the future homeowner. Along with the enjoyment that a pool can bring, there are responsibilities involved that the homeowner will need to consider. Regular maintenance and upkeep are required in order for the pool to maintain its crystal clear appearance. Protective safety features should be in place to protect against small children wandering into the pool unsupervised. Other considerations prior to purchasing a pool home may include:

Screened in pool.  Buying a home with a screen surrounding it or adding a screen after purchasing the home will often times may help with the upkeep of the pool.  A screen may help prevent leaves and other debris from falling into your pool from the surrounding landscape.

Self cleaning systems are great for the busy family or individual.
Does the pool have a hot tub?
How is it heated?
Diving boards and slides are frowned upon by most all insurance companies.
Is the home designed with a pool side bath entry?

Owning a pool home in Florida can provide you with hours and hours of enjoyment. Should you wish to own a home with a pool, ask one of my professional real estate agents to show you all the pool homes available to you. Go here to view pool homes for sale.
