NOUVEAU RICHE - New Bootcamp/guru - Dolf
There's a new kid on the block in the world of RE Guru's known as Nouveau Riche. This group sells exclusively products from Dolf de Roos (one of Robert Kiyosaki's "Mentors"). They are springing up a lot in Utah and Arizona, as well as several other countries (Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and England primarily). If you haven't heard about them yet, I imagine that you will in the future. I wanted to share my experience with them with anyone that might be contemplating joining their organization.
Disclaimers
I AM IN NO WAY AFFILIATED, SELLING, PROMOTING, OR REPRESENTING NOUVEAU RICHE! (Read on and you'll Believe me!) My experiences were in March of 2003. The company was started in November 2002. Perhaps the company is more mature and efficient now. That said, some of my information might be out of date. Additionally, I'm going to boil this down so that you can read it in one sitting. I could write a lot more. Let me know if you want me to expand on any particular point. I appologize for the length of this post, but hope that it provides someone with information they're looking for.
My Experience
I've enjoyed going to some of the 3 Hour "Free RE" seminars that pop up at hotels where they get you there and wet your appetite and try to sell their seminars (after you go to 3 or 4 you start to laugh at how much alike they all are). It opens my eyes to what other guru's & groups are all about. I meet people and learn a thing or two. With Nouveau Riche I was initially impressed. I was an unemployed RE Investor in the making. I though it could be a good thing to get involved with so I could continue learning about RE, network, teach others about RE, and make some money in the process while I was trying to invest. I went to multiple meetings (3 I think), went to lunch with about 14 of them, went to one of their houses and met with 3 of them, and spent many hours on the phone and after meetings chatting with various members of the organization. Additionally, I knew a couple of them from other connections. I bought the lowest package deal (and returned it), and I seriously considered joining the group, but did not. Here are my reasons.
Overview
There are 3 packages that you can pay for and join in with. The first is about $3500, the second is around $6,000, and the third is $7,000 (these are the prices if you buy them all together. I believe they're more expensive if you buy them separately. These are estimates, but the total cost is $16,000 for all three). Any time you buy any one of these, your "Friend" who sold it to you keeps 70% of the COST of the product (which is negotiable, but they won't tell you that) Note: I've heard that they've rearranged their pricing so the lowest one is cheaper, but they're all still about $16K. If you join and sell NR, your "sponsor" makes a profit on your purchase and your next two. Their motto is "Buy one, Sell two".
-Package #1. $3500. Includes: REMS (Real Estate Management Software)
If you've never used anything else, you'll think it's great. If you've used ANYTHING else, you'll hate it. I found it cumbersome, non-conforming, and counterintuitive (not to mention very expensive compared to other things out there).
REPS (Real Estate Purchase Software
(see REMS). I had about the same feeling. You can get spreadsheets from realtors that do the same thing. Heck, I made my own. It's not rocket science; it's a few equations (only mine does more!). If you know how to do a dozen or so equations in Excel you can do it yourself (BTW, I didn't know anything about excel when I started to make mine).
CD's
You get 12 audio CD's of Dolf giving one of his seminars. After I listened to the CD's I didn't think it was worth paying to go to hear him speak (more on that later).
Books
They tossed in a few de Roos's books that you can get at any bookstore as fillers. $30 worth or so.
Seminar
Included was a 2 day seminar (You have to pay all expenses, travel, air, etc) that was 6 months away. (but only a 3 day return policy)
Package #2. $6,000. Includes:
3 Day Seminar
(see above)
Package #3. $7000. Includes:
5 Day Seminar
(See Above).
With all of the products you receive a weekly newsletter from Dolf (kind of what you would read from Carleton Sheets). There are also world wide teleconferences where everyone could participate, and local groups. The worldwide teleconferences were interesting. Everyone was from Utah, Phoenix, or Australia. (Keep in mind, this was when the company was still fairly small and new). One of two things would happen. We'd end up talking about specific neighborhoods in phoenix (that's great if you're in phoenix, but what if you're in New York,..or Mexico) or the moderator would say "You need to ask your lawyer/accountant that question" because the info was way too generic. Most questions were given about one minute of consideration. I can only imagine how they'll be once they've got people on their from 10 countries and all over the USA. As for the local groups, I already told you who was running them. I asked when they met, for how long, where at, what they discussed, etc. Everything was answered like "we haven't exactly decided..". bottom line, there hadn't been any local RE educational meetings, only recruiting meetings (which they'd had a ton of).
Seminars
In two days they claimed that they would teach you all about real estate so you could run out and do it. Additionally they were going to teach you how to do it many different ways and many different techniques. The most useful thing he teaches is "look at 100 properties". If you do that with ANYTHING you'll learn the market (cars, boats, houses, multi's etc). They must cater to the lowest common denominator (i.e., stupidest person in the audience) and speak in generalities because after all they have everyone from high school dropouts who put the $16K on a credit card to doctors and MBA's. Fluffy stories that tell you to make your money when you buy, buy properties and then change them (rent them, divide them, etc), look at 100 properties, etc. Additionally they talk about how to take advantage of global RE fluctuations and buy properties in China, Argentina, and Mexico. If you can't afford to leave your job, travel to china, hire others to do it for you, you don't know how to invest in your back yard, and you don't know Chinese, then Chinese Real Estate is not for you...At least not yet. There are great opportunities outside of the USA, but you've got more things to learn and over come as you get into international real estate.
High Pressure Sales
During that time, I was negotiating two real estate deals that would have taken up most of the capital I had in closing costs, appraisals, inspections, deferred maintenance, etc. Across the board I was encouraged by the Nouveau Riche reps to spend ALL of my savings on the seminars and products (that I would not gone to for about 7 months) rather than use it to secure 2 profitable real estate projects. Interesting attitude from a company that encourages you to buy real estate. One of those was a 24 unit apartment building which I now own.
Selling To Others
They encouraged me to make a list of 200 people who I could contact and invite them to explore the product. I did this. After I had looked across the list of names of 200 friends and family, there were only 3 of them that I felt like I could sell this to without feeling like a weasel, draining their pocketbooks, encouraging them to take on debt, deceiving them, and hoping that they wouldn't resent me for talking them into something that is $16,000 when most of the same information is available for cheap or free. Bottom line, I didn't believe it was worth that. Additionally I knew that $11,000 of that $16K would be going into my pocket. I know that other people have margins to make, but other products are not that expensive, nor do they have those margins.
Experience
Most of the people in NR had very little RE experience. Those who did, had it before they became involved. They would say that they were going to host the meetings and teach you about RE. Most of the ones that DID have RE had it because they'd made a killing selling NR to others and they bought RE conventionally with that money, often times paying cash for the properties. Most have no idea how to buy properties creatively.
Pyramid
It is NOT a Pyramid scheme by definition. It is Legal. That said, it looks and feels a lot like one. I've heard them tell people "you'll make so much money selling this that you can buy all the RE you want". There's something seriously wrong with this picture. I won't go into the definition of a pyramid scheme, but it does feel like it. Legally, there has to be an inexpensive way to get into any MLM (which they claim they're not, but they are. Just a shallow one). It's usually between $45 and $100. For NR it's $75. When I finally decided that I'd be interested in joining to see how it goes, they wouldn't let me join for $75. I told them they had to by law. They retaliated by saying that they'd let me, but that there would be NO support for me at all until I paid at least the $3500 to "show my commitment". I responded by saying "What motivation do you have to help and support me if you've already been paid" to which they had no good response other than "I wasn't committed". The bottom line is that they're more interested in recruiting (and forcing their recruits to buy product) than actually selling their product.
Learning Curve
Now that you've paid your $16K, you STILL have to figure out how to buy RE. You're not trading money for knowledge. Ron LeGrand will have seminars that are several days long where he teaches short sales, and ONLY short sales. I know many people, who have paid a lot for their education, but they walk out, and they pocket $20K on their first deal. He gives them the forms, the strategies, the equations, the words to use, etc. He trains you very specifically how to do a very narrowly-focused, very profitable transaction. NR does no such thing. NR students will still be found on TCI, libraries, and bookstores trying to figure it out.
Opportunity Costs
By now you know that I don't think their product is worth what they ask. What is the opportunity cost (what you could have done) with the $16,000. Look at it this way. If you were to open a separate checking account, how long would it take you to stash away an extra $16K. Most people (with say a $32K/year income) would be doing really well if they could stash away an extra $5K a year after all expenses, taxes, contributions, retirement, etc. That's 3 years of discretionary income. Or they could quit their job, move in with mom and dad, and do nothing but read library books, RE websites, and talk with people and begin to learn the business.
Sharing
One of the biggest turn-offs was the attitude towards sharing information with other investors. They treat RE techniques like they're responsible for protecting the ancient secrets (such as buy low, sell high, rehab, buy distressed properties, lease options, etc) that are theirs to protect and hand down only to chosen individuals. (Chosen = "paid thousands of dollars). If you ask them a question, they're response is something like "You ought to come to one of our meetings to find out more about our organization." Interestingly enough, they can be found at other meetings asking questions and trying to learn from others. One-way vacuum. It's very hypocritical in my opinion.
Insiders
They claim to provide strategic partnerships. I've personally spoken with two of their "partners". Both receive referrals and commissions of some sort from the NR members/organization when they work with them. Both are extremely knowledgeable about RE. Neither one is impressed with NR. One helps them find properties. They have a waiting list of several hundred buyers (NR students) for their name to get to the top of a list so that they can spring onto an opportunity (often a SFR in an area most investors run from at about 85% LTV). (I also know one of the guys that provides them with properties. ANYONE can go to him and get the same deal any time, and without waiting on a list! In any case, they only have half a dozen properties per month come up. That list is only getting longer.
Other Opinions
I'll put it this way. 100% of the investors that I know, respect, and trust their opinions don't like NR. They'll roll their eyes or laugh hysterically at best or get angry and disgusted at worst. The only people who I've heard say good things about them were those who were involved and those who were new to RE.
In their Defense
I do have a handful of good things that I can say about them. In recent months I've talked to a few people who are NR students say some good things about NR. This could be to save their ego or it could be because they genuinely feel that way. I thought the people involved were fun to be with and associate with. Additionally I think that there are people who NEED to pay $16K to get a fire under their pants and get going in RE. If they start buying one SFR per year at 95% LTV and do so for the rest of their life, but wouldn't have without NR, then I suppose that it was money well spent. For if they hadn't made the financial commitment, nothing would have happened. Additionally, from a business standpoint, I guess I've got to have a bit of respect for someone who can talk people into paying $16K (putting $11K in their pocket) for 10 days of seminars, 12 CD's, a couple of books, and some mediocre software.
Conclusion
Recently our local RE group received a letter from an individual who was about to join NR when she found our group. She indicated that ours was much more informative when it came to learning about real estate (as opposed to recruiting).
As for the boot camps, I am very opposed to bad RE "boot camps, or the ones that you pay $3000 for and half of the time is spent explaining to you why you need to spend $10,000 for the next one. Many are simply motivational hype, but no training. That said, there are some great ones out there that will help you stagger through your first deal, do better on your second, and have it down pat by your third (more or less anyways). I do not feel that this is one of them. Your time and money are extremely valuable. Spend them both wisely. $16K is a new car, a down payment on a house, 4 nice, exotic vacations, consumer debt elimination. Most people think long and hard about spending that kind of money on any one of those things listed. Do the same with the RE packages that you are considering.

Nouveau Riche has proven to be one of the most forwarding thinking companies when it comes to real estate and satisfying the consumer. They keep changing the mold to fit the needs of their customers. As you can obviously see, Hibby''s review is SOO outdated and why?...Because Nouveau Riche is constantly on the ball! They listen to their customers and make adjustments when needed.
You don''t want to listen to Guru''s who try to upsell you and only tell you half of what you need to know (unless you buy their product and come to their next seminar that is)? Well Nouveau Riche listened to their consumers and changed their seminars into Colleges. They did this to satisfy their customers NOT because they were being investigated, as someone ridiculously mentioned below. WOW has it gotten to the point where companies can''t make changes that benefit us for the good without someone complaining or making outlandish remarks?
Now we can learn about real estate in a college style environment. We can CHOOSE our classes from a list of 28 courses. We can CHOOSE what real estate strategy we want to partake in. Nouveau Riche has given us the power and control over our own destiny and with NO UPSELLING!! Nouveau Riche is also working on giving us the ability to earn college credits by attending their college! They even had an ACE review team at this past college in SLC! Now tell me another company that has this type of program? Give me a name of another real estate education program that gives you the flexibility to choose your schedule, has no upselling, and the gives you the ability to earn college credits. I don''t think you can because it doesn''t exist.

I am a busy executive and have been looking for a real estate investing solution that would fit into my crazy schedule. I am fed up with seminar companies that do mass marketing to drive people to a seminar and then spend most of the time “teasing” you with information so that you buy their next level seminar. It is a joke!
I have recently been researching Nouveau Riche and have been EXTREMELY impressed with what I have found. I stumbled on these threads from hibby76 and quickly realized that this individual obviously doesn’t know what they are talking about and from the profile shown on this website….looks like this individual spends a lot of time writing silly, uneducated comments and opinions (look for yourself). I couldn’t stop laughing when I saw that hibby76 was soliciting partners to invest in apartment buildings with them. Geez……no wonder you are spending your time writing uneducated and uninformed comments about others out there.
My research on Nouveau Riche consisted of researching the internet, talking with the Executives of the company, talking with some of their Faculty, and talking with actual students that have attended their college. My research showed that Nouveau Riche offers the following:
1) Education – collegiate style education with a custom curriculum path created specific to your goals, desires, and resources. I was AMAZED to read in the threads below that Nouveau Riche was recently awarded with a credit recommendation from the American Council on Education and the education you receive is worthy of college credit, and recognized by over 1,000 colleges and universities around the country! I have NEVER heard of any other real estate investing education of this caliber….NEVER.
2) Community – the opportunity to regularly meet and interact with “like-minded” individuals.
3) Coaching – a “personal trainer” program for students that helps them develop and execute a real estate investment plan specific to their individual needs.
4) Full Service Real Estate investing solution - Services offered by the licensed real estate brokerage and FTC regulated franchise company, The Real Market Experts, Inc.™ (RME), whose purpose is to locate the deals, assist in the securing of financing, and location of tenants and management companies. RME makes it simple for busy professionals to build their portfolio in several markets across the country without sacrificing time with family and friends.
Hhhmmmmm…..collegiate style education, coaching, and a full service real estate investing solution. I have NEVER seen anything like this before!!!!!!!!!

First of all, this subject SHOULD NOT BE associated with a bootcamp or a guru...
Although I would rather spend my time constructively working on my real estate business, I felt compelled to post comments here. It is sad that people will take the time to post to a website and NOT take the time to ensure the information is accurate and kept up to date! What will it take for “hibby76” to get the record straight?
I am a student of Nouveau Riche who has learned more about real estate investing in the past 6 months than I have in over 4 years of jumping from guru seminar to guru seminar. Some important points about Nouveau Riche:
- This is not education that can be purchased anywhere else because Nouveau Riche has their own faculty of educators who specialize in various areas. The Residential Real Estate Encyclopedia and the College were created by Nouveau Riche
- The cost of education is less than guru-hype boot camps that get you in for several thousand dollars for a couple of days, then try to upsell you more. With the Nouveau Riche College, you can actually choose which classes you want to take for a certain number of credits per class. Based on your investing preferences and your own situation, an entire “curriculum path” with the appropriate classes is designed for you!
- I happen to know for a fact that Nouveau Riche has just received credit recommendation from ACE (American Council on Education) for their curriculum paths. Tell me the education isn’t real??? Then I guess if I go to a University and am not happy with a class I can call it a scam too???
- There is indeed an opportunity to market this education as an Independent Student Advisor and they do make a nice profit. Good for them! If I chose to, I could do the same. I chose to focus on real estate investing and have paid for my education more than 3x over because of what I’ve learned from Nouveau Riche.
- I have encountered some of the marketers (they are called “ISAs” for Independent Student Advisor) who seemed a bit “pushy” and didn’t explain the program very well. Unfortunately I have found that everywhere. I went to one of my favorite retail stores the other day and had the worst service I have ever had. This person didn’t have a clue and I was mad. But I realized that it wasn’t the store that was bad, it was the individual, so I made a follow-up call to the store management!
In a nutshell, Nouveau Riche has proven that they offer both a real educational system and an opportunity for people to make money as Independent sales people. I have benefited greatly from the education and the network and have met hundreds of others who have as well. Congratulations to the Nouveau Riche creators and leadership for accomplishing what few (if any!) others have!

Simply put, do your own research rather than reading a one-sided rant, made from someone back in 2003. It''s nearly 2006 for God''s sake. Why is this even still here? Anyone who has spent a little time examining Nouveau Riche now can tell you that the claims made by the original poster are either outdated or false.
I''m not going to write some success story and tell you how much I''ve made thanks to Nouveau Riche. Instead, I invite you to do some research yourself. Visit the website (www.inwiththenew.com), call or email the company (all of the contact information is listed on the website), search for representatives and/or meetings IN YOUR AREA (that is listed on the site as well), but most importantly, talk to people who have had experiences with Nouveau Riche today, not 2 or 3 years ago!
The original poster makes claims that all of the information is available for cheaper or free elsewhere, well I say, "Where?!" I love when claims are made, but no alternative is presented to compare. Where can I find all of this information for free Hibby? If the information was free and so easily accessible, I don''t think Nouveau Riche would be so successful. Besides, why go elsewhere when I get all of the information I need presented to me in a package delivered to my doorstep each month, or at their college locations? That''s convenience. If you want to go scouring the internet and the libraries for various little pieces of information you need, then having the hassle of trying to piece them all together and make sense of it, go for it. As for me, I''m a busy man, so I''ll do what works for me.
To the sheep who had no knowledge of Nouveau Riche, but praised the original poster''s evaluation of the company, just because it was long winded, grow a pair and develop your own opinion. Stop watching tv and believing everything everyone tells you and think for yourself for a change. That goes for anyone else who bases their decision to work with Nouveau Riche (or any company for that matter) based on one man''s misconstrued opinion.
Oh well, I suppose that''s what separates the successful from the unsuccessful.

The misinformation in this original article is staggering. For those of us that have taken a logical approach to investigating the Nouveau Riche program, the value of the education is incredible. First of all, let me dispel the outright lies in this article. There is no program that sells software. You will not receive any materials from Dolf - cd''s or books. There are no 3 or 5 day seminars. The product Nouveau Riche is providing is not a seminar - it is nuts and bolts education.
The product that Nouveau Riche provides is a Real Estate Investment College. Yes - College. They were recently awarded with a credit recommendation from the American Council on Education. This means that the level of education you receive from the Nouveau Riche College is worthy of college credit, and recognized by over 1,000 colleges and universities around the country. The instructors in the Nouveau Riche college are investors - they do what they teach every day. You can go to the website - www.inwiththenew.com and see the classes that are offered at the Nouveau Riche colleges, and the instructors that teach these classes. This is no seminar - this is sit in the classroom, work in your workbook, and learn from the people that know what they are doing. The individual classes last from 1/2 day to 2 full days for each individual course. And, certain combinations of these courses will earn the credit recommendation from the American Council on Education. This is serious stuff.
Bottom line - if you want to get some REAL real estate investment education, look up Nouveau Riche. I don''t know any other real estate investment education organization that has earned the ACE credit recommendation. Look past those individuals that haven''t been able to make real estate investing work in their lives, and find a truly credible source of education. One that has been recognized by an organization that is associated with the United States Higher Education industry. That is REAL CREDIBILITY.

My name is Robert McDowell. My wife and I started in Nouveau Riche 3 years ago today as new Investors with no experience or training. Our experience today with Nouveau Riche speaks for itself. We have had an amazing time meeting in person some of the greatest REI teachers that think the World of Nouveau Riche and it''s Founders. I could flood this board with testimonials of people I personally know that are now Real Estate Millionaires because of NR. NR grew from 100 students to 1000''s of Students because they had something real to offer. I''ve read over the responses on this thread and there are 2 simple answers for others to know the truth about NR. To know what they offer go to their website www.inwiththenew.com. To know what we''ve accomplished go to www.learntobuyhouses.com. We are real people that had no money and no credit living in a 1 bedroom apartment in Gilbert, AZ. 6 weeks after we moved to Gilbert, Nouveau Riche was revealed to us and our friends. Since that day we have purchased 23 properties, own $10,000,000 in real estate with a equity position of $3,200,000 and now live in a $4.8M Estate home in Scottsdale, AZ. We bought all of these houses using the techniques taught by NR and all but 2 of them with non of our money or credit. We know for a fact we are at this point today because of the Leadership and Vision of the Nouveau Riche Founders and the company''s commitment to create Real Estate Investors. So there''s the truth about NR for us. If the smug and smarmy want to discredit us and hide behind their nicknames so be it. If someone reading this wants to confirm my story and copy our success (that''s the whole point of teaching others) then they can call our phone number on our website or they can write to me personally at robertmcdowell@cox.net. I hope this helps someone today make an informed decision about their future instead of buying into the non-sense and fear being spread on this site.

I just recently got into my first real estate investment opportunity using the information that I learned from Nouveau Riche college. I attended the first college in Aug 2005 in Scottsdale and was amazed at the classes they offered and how informative they were. I was able to do this investment opportunity with the knowledge that I learned at the NR college in August. I took the IRA investing class where they teach you about self directed IRA''s. Without this information I wouldn''t of been able to take advantage of this investment opportunity. I am expecting a high rate of return on my investment and I also am able to purchase a unit at tier 1 pricing. I wouldn''t of been able to do any of of this without the classes and the deals presented to Nouveau Riche community members.
The Nouveau Riche College is much better than any boot camp out there. You are able to pick the courses and investment path that YOU want to take. They have classes on short sales, foreclosures, legal, taxes, IRA, and much more. You may want to visit their website www.inwiththenew.com for more info on the classes that they offer.
Thank you and keep up the good work Nouveau Riche.

Who is hibby76 and why can’t these people use their own names.
Maybe I will start a trend. My name is Robert Phillips and I have been reading this site since I started investing. For the most part I find that the people that write information here are correct, but I am compelled to write a response to this one because this person – this hibby76 person that is hiding behind his “handle” is CRAZY and 100% wrong.
Here is my story. I am not affiliated with Nouveau Riche, I am an investor, I invest in real estate, PERIOD. I do not care to market anything I am busy doing my real estate investing FULL TIME, mostly because of Nouveau Riche. In July 2005 a friend came to me and told me about a company that offered a real College for real estate investors. This buddy of mine and I had spent thousands on other programs including Ron LeGrande, Russ Whitney and Robert Allen. Each and EVERY time I went to a PAID seminar I was discussed that I had to PAY MORE for the “next” level of education. I was about ready to give up when Adam came to me. He said “Bob, this one seem real, they will not up sell us and we can pick our classes.” He told me that the tuition was LESS than some of the local colleges around town and that he thought it was worth a shot. With GREAT skepticism I decided why not. I purchased 12 credit hours at the College and went to Phoenix in August of 2005 to attend, again, not expecting to be impressed. I was expecting to get hammered for MORE MONEY so that I could get the next latest greatest tip from the guru.
GUESS WHAT – NO UP SELL, NO HYPE, AND NO BULL CRAP. This was the real deal, real education. The first day I took a class called Buy & Hold I. The instructor walked in with a cowboy hat set his 140 page manual on the desk (the same one I had) and instantly distributed a test. THAT’S RIGHT – A TEST. Just like in a real college. Well needless to say, I FLUNKED the test and I thought that I knew quite a bit, after all I had spent over $20,000 at that point on my education. From that point forward he spent the entire day teaching us. At the end of the day – you guessed it, another test. This time – I PASSED IT. I felt a sense of accomplishment that I had never felt before. I really felt like I had learned something. IT WAS FANTASTIC. That night I called my wife and told her that I had finally found it, a company that was a real education company. Oh yes, that entire day cost me less than most of the courses on this site, about $450. Needless to say, I came back the next day for more and took another class called Creative Finance – with an instructor names Craig Cottrell. Craig was really impressive, he was a former college athlete turned academic. He has an MBA and a several securities licenses. He had been a financial advisor, a mortgage broker and worked raising capital for the former mayor of Phoenix. This guy was VERY CREDIBLE… and knowledgeable too. I learned more from him in a day than I did in 6 day classes with Robert Allen. And YES, I had to take more tests, and yes again – I flunked the first one and passed the final.
Since that college I have taken over 40 credit hours with Nouveau Riche. I have taken classes like Business Financial Management, Lease Options, Foreclosures, Joint Ventures, Master Leases, Legal Strategies, Understanding Mortgages, and Subject-to purchases. Heck the Subject to purchases class has a 300 page work book with ALL of the forms in it. I also took a 2 day class called short sales – and I am qualified to compare it to Ron LeGrands class because I took that to and BELIEVE ME NR IS 1000% better. By the way, when I was sold the Ron LeGrande class they told me that it was being taught by Ron and Ron never showed up. When I asked the Ron LeGrande people about it they said that I was mistaken and that “Ron just trains the teachers, he does not teach them himself.” Funny how they took my money anyway.
I am not sure if hibby76 and I are talking about the same company. I went to the website that I have for the company www.inwiththenew.com and verified that the college that I am writing about is affiliated with this company – and it is. I am not sure what all this is about marketing and 70% profit. I purchased my ticket from an “Independent Student Advisor” – she has been very helpful with assisting me in choosing my classes and I plan on continuing my education with Nouveau Riche.
The only thing I do agree with on hibby76 is that I can not stand boot camps, thank GOD I found Nouveau Riche and a REAL COLLEGE. In fact I understand that they have a credit recommendation from the American Council on Education. Ask any of the other GURUS if that is the case, I would bet my RIGHT ARM on the fact that they DO NOT.
In closing I want to thank all of my instructors that have helped me so much. Mark Kohler the attorney that taught me my Legal Strategies class, Craig Cotrell that taught me how to raise private money, Cowboy Chris Wilson (what a stud this guy is) that taught me how to do the deals and gave me the paperwork to do them, and most of all the guy that started it – whoever he (or she) is.
I have increased my net worth over $450,000 and made cash in my pocket of over $55,000 in real estate deals since I found Nouveau Riche. Worth it – ten times over!!!!
So there you have it readers, you can believe this guy named hibby76 who won’t share his name and all of these other losers that do not know the facts – or you can believe a guy on the Internet that actually gives his name and backs it us with FACTS and a website for the company that will tell it all. The sad thing about all of this is the fact that there are probably a lot of people that have read these idiots writings and have decided not to go to the Nouveau Riche College because of it. He probably has robbed them of a future and their freedom – THAT IS THE SAD THING ABOUT THE INTERNET, YOU CAN WRITE IT AND PEOPLE READ IT AND BELIEVE IT, and EVEN THOUGH IT HAS NO NAME ATTACHED AND NO BASIS OF FACT.
Go to the website and make your own decision.
Good luck in your investing…. I am kicking butt, thanks to Nouveau Riche

My name is Bob Snyder. I am President of the Nouveau Riche Board of Regents. I tripped across the commentary on our company today and am shocked at the number of inaccuracies and outlandish assumptions that have been reported. My concern is for the individuals reading this nonsense and the false impression that they will be given about our company. Those who have reported their opinions and experiences with Nouveau Riche have done so with little to no personal experience with our education or our company. They do not understand our product, our marketing model or our vision of the Real Estate education world and how we are changing it for the better. Heck, they couldn’t even get the product descriptions or pricing correct. They misrepresented the areas of the world we are doing business and the purpose of The Real Market Expert Franchise who supplies and services the property needs of the Nouveau Riche community.
Nouveau Riche is first and foremost an educational company dedicated to the subject of real estate investing. We have a number of educational programs to assist our students in learning the techniques and strategies needed to succeed in the world of Creative real estate. Our flagship product is called the Residential Real Estate Encyclopedia and currently consists of 15 specific home study workshops on everything from Short Sales to Multi-family investing strategies. Customers who subscribe to this educational program are also granted many other community benefits including attendance at our 2-Day Intensive real estate workshop. The Intensive provides them with 2 full days or hard hitting factual real estate education on everything from my own personal systems for finding wholesale real estate opportunities to how to contract these properties without using a dime of your own money or credit. This workshop has a retail value of $3,000, but we choose to give it away for free to our active community members.
In addition to the Residential Real Estate Encyclopedia we also offer students the opportunity to attend The Nouveau Riche College. At the College students are able to customize their curriculum to fit their needs and their investing goals. Our students choose from over 25 different classes that are taught by seasoned real estate professionals. These professionals are expert in their subject and know how to stick to course objectives. They are also forbidden to up sell or make offers that would take away from the learning environment. Our College is strictly educational and we do not employ any of the so called Guru’s in Nouveau Riche. Our instructors are not slick sales people or national celebrities that haven’t completed a real estate transaction in a decade. They are current investors with amazing personal success stories as investors. As a result of their instruction our students are coming out of our College classes with a clear understanding of how to create short term and long term wealth in real estate.
There is a great deal more I would like to share, but my intent in providing this brief explanation of what we are is to dispel the nonsense reported by those who have nothing better to do than make up stuff and put it on the internet. If you want to do your research and make an intelligent and informed decision about our company come to the source. Our web address is www.inwiththenew.com

Has anyone heard about Nouveau Riche getting accredited?
I just attended a REIA event where a NR VP spoke. He said the marketing opportunity is 50%/50%...50% going to marketer & 50% going to NR.
Do you know more details about how this company was founded? Who are the Executives?

I have been told by a source within Nouveau Riche (NR) that the company is headed for drastic changes in the way it conducts business. In fact, if this information turns out to be true, then these changes are so extreme that I suspect NR might have been investigated recently, although this is just a suspicion, not a statement of fact.
The changes I mentioned above are due to take place, according to my source inside NR, on 04/05/2005. Again, according to my source (which is very high up in the NR organization), the ability to recruit via a network marketing system, as they have in place right now, will be taken away. I won''t go into more detail than that until I see how accurate my source is on these points.
If this all turns out to be true, then I wonder why NR people continue to this day to recruit people who are promised the current program, which NR''s Board of Regents know is about to change in about 5 weeks.
I wonder how many people are going to pay $16,000 in the next 5 weeks, only to find out that the marketing and recruiting system that they were promised just days or weeks before is being changed entirely, and that NR knew all along that this was going to happen.
I suspect there may be some lawsuits from this, assuming that my source at NR is correct. This will be interesting to watch.
One more thing. Shortly before Christmas 2004, I attended a meeting at the home of a member of NR''s Board of Regents in Utah. There were 40 or 50 people there, some of whom had already signed up with NR, while a handful of others had not.
This Regent told us that her people weren''t marketing (code for "recruiting") enough. She said she knew that some of us were coming into NR for the real estate education. She said we needed to forget that in favor of the marketing, and that if we wanted to learn how to invest in real estate, we should, and I am quoting her directly here, "go to the library, and learn it for free".
I was dumbfounded by her statement, and remain so to this day.
Furthermore, I have heard multiple complaints from current NR associates that signed up for, and subsequently attended, a NR investing symposium. Now bear in mind that these people paid anywhere from $5,000 to $14,000 to attend these things.
To the dismay of these people, once they got there, the symposium turned out to be a sales pitch for some other symposium or product. These new products/symposia cost anywhere from $3,000 to $5,000 above and beyond what these poor people had already paid to attend this first symposium.
If it turns out to be true that NR is indeed being investigated, and that they will change their business model on 04/05/05, then it will be no wonder.
My personal opinion of NR is that it is a Network Marketing organization that masquerades as a real estate investment company.

I recently signed up for Nouveau Riche, and there are two features of their business model that appealled to me at the outset: 1. All the servicing companies are provided (management, construction, etc.), so that I don''t have to go out and find them, and 2. I understand the financing options are very liberal once you''ve begun buying. In other words, you really could buy one or two properties a month. (Under my current mortgage situation, I couldn''t realistically buy another house for 2-4 years.) Do you have any input on this?

Question: Does anyone know the specific name and contact information of the people that are running the NR Conciers program?
Could you point out some specific resources that would be equal to the NR informational material? Or general resources for that matte??
Does anyone know where you can buy the same information that NR wants to sell you??
It seems to me that NR is way more interested in selling their program than helping you to learn RE. Just getting into this, and don''t really know where else to turn though.
Anyone out there interested in selling the NR program for $200 over cost??

...Yet Another Update
The guy who has the vacant house in Atlanta, GA that I mentioned previously....
It turns out that he paid about 104% of FMV for the house that they told him he picked up at about 90% LTV. It''s vacant, 3000 miles away, not being managed, and it''s upside down.
I''ve also learned that Investors pay $400,000 to own a franchise for the concierge program for a certain area. The investors get about 10% of the value of the home right off the bat. In other words, Nouveau Riche has an agreement to buy the home at 70% LTV and then when you buy it, you get it at 80% LTV. Keep in mind, they usually buy from wholesalers. The margins aren''t very good. Why not go straight to a wholesaler yourself, and cut out Nouveau Riche? Keep in mind, you already paid them $16,000.....why pay them 10% on each deal that you do????

Great Review!!
This was not much of a surpirse to me. I read Dolf De Roos Rich Dad Book "Real Estate Riches", it was a great for me at the time because I needed something to motivate me and make me WANT to get into real estate, but similar to the review above it just didn''t reallt tell me how. It talked and talked about it and got me all excited...it did talk about the 100 houses thing. But after I read it I just wanted more, I wanted to just go out and buy some real estate....a little later I found TCI and before I made my 1st purchase, I''ve actually learned how.
I would have to say that I won''t be attending their seminars.

I wish I could go back and edit my review to add updates and new experiences. O well, this will have to do.
Nouveau Riche is very quick to admit that when you buy the system the person who sold it to you makes a 70% profit. They''re also quick to say that this is your business and you can run it how you want to (and therefore sell it for whatever you want to). So, let''s say you are going to buy their $10,000 product. Why not just offer a Nouveau Riche sales rep $3,000 and an extra $200 bucks for his/her troubles. Let them know that that''s all you''re willing to pay for it, and either they can sell it to you for that or someone else will. $200 bucks, take it or leave it. I had this conversation with a rep who said I could buy it from him for wholesale plus $200 anytime I wanted to. SO, in the event that you do decide to buy their product, pay about 31% of whatever they tell you the price is and you''ll have that much more money to use for buying real estate.

Update: A few nights ago I attended a real estate meeting. It was a small group (20 people or so) that are learning a specific method of investing. The teacher is an "affiliate" of Nouveau Riche, does some training for them, speaks to groups, etc. He is not a recruit (ie, he get''s paid. He hasn''t paid money to NR). Of the 20 people, about 15 were NR students there learning the same things that I was learning.
First of all, the people next to me had paid $16K or so so that NR could tell them about this teacher. I paid $100 and was sitting in the same room. I talked with several of them who are progressing in real estate investing, but "trying to recoup their losses" from NR as they put it. They ranged from angry to dissatisfied with what NR had done for them. One individual purchased a home several states away through their Concieres program. He was told that NR would do 100% of the management and that it would cash flow and appreciate. Guess what....His place is sitting vacant right now, and they''re making no effort to fill it. Empty promises. The Conciers program (which is suposed to bring you great deals and take care of all the management) in my state is severly underdeveloped. There''s a waiting list of hundreds of investors, and very few properties. The properties that come along are in severly distressed areas that are tricky to manage anyways at 90% value at best. The ones in decent areas are 100%+ FMV because NR gets a piece of the action before they sell it off to their investors. Additionally, I know the source of the homes for their concierge program. I also happen to know that the company aggressivly advertises to investors and will sell homes to anyone...NR or otherwise.
Finally, the leader of this discussion group supported many of my claims in the article above. He''s agreed to teach NR students and help them learn real estate. He talked about his personal relationships with the individuals in the uper echelons of NR and told us how they continually try to get money from their students. Their priorities are 1) Buy the program yourself. 2) Sell the program to other people. and 3) Make money in Real Estate. Many of the NR students have already maxed out their credit cards, HELOCs, or bank accounts to pay for the NR course. They HAVE TO sell NR to make some money so that they CAN invest in RE. I understand that you can be involved in RE with bad credit and no money. I also realize that you''re crazy to do certain things with no reserves in the bank and no accessible lines of credit.
In the end, the students were disgruntled and the NR mentor refused to endorse or be financially envolved with the company directly (and declined their offers repeatedly).
